1. A wandering swordsman accepts shelter at a monastery during winter. The monks task him with retrieving a stolen crown, though its significance remains unclear throughout his journey.
2. Two siblings inherit a cursed relic from their grandfather. They journey to return it to an ancient temple, learning the artifact represents their family's history of betrayal.
3. A merchant caravan crosses a desert where mirages reveal past failures. The leader sees visions of his abandoned daughter, causing delays that deplete their water supplies.
4. A mapmaker is hired by a queen to chart forbidden territories. She discovers villages that practice execution rituals, documenting customs that challenge her beliefs about justice.
5. An exiled prince works as a stable hand in a rival kingdom. His former betrothed arrives as a diplomat, and their past complicates negotiations between the two lands.
6. A queen murders a king and rules a kingdom while her exiled brother joins a rebellion and summons a dragon to fight against her and the dark gods she serves.
