1. A safecracker is wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in a penal colony, where he befriends a counterfeiter who needs protection and they plan multiple escape attempts together.
2. A woman tracks down the art thief who stole her late father's collection and discovers he sold the paintings to fund his daughter's cancer treatment years earlier.
3. An informant provides false testimony that sends three men to prison but one of them escapes and locates the informant working at a rural gas station under an assumed name.
4. Two brothers operate a counterfeit passport ring in Montreal and the younger one develops a heroin addiction that drains their profits while attracting police attention to their operation.
5. A smuggler transports illegal butterfly specimens across the Mexican border while his teenage accomplice documents each species in a journal that incriminates them both when customs agents discover it.
6. A delicate alliance forms between rival gangs in Manila as they coordinate a jewelry heist but paranoia and old grievances resurface during the actual robbery when gunfire erupts.
