1. Two documentary filmmakers move to a dying Icelandic fishing village to capture its final year and become entangled in the residents' collective decision about their community's end.
2. A widowed pharmacist in rural Norway begins dispensing incorrect medications to terminal patients after his daughter's suicide and watches their families grieve as he once did.
3. A grieving woman and her boyfriend join his friends on a trip to a remote Swedish commune for a midsummer festival held every ninety years, where increasingly disturbing pagan rituals unfold.
4. A botanist studying decomposition in Swedish wetlands begins leaving personal items in the bog as offerings while her marriage dissolves and her research notes become increasingly incoherent.
5. A recovering alcoholic returns to her childhood summer camp as a counselor but the memories of what happened there twenty years ago resurface when she meets another survivor.
6. Three estranged siblings inherit their father's isolated Finnish lighthouse and discover his journals documenting years of self-imposed sensory deprivation experiments that gradually consumed his sanity.
