1. A high school teacher in a declining mill town notices her students developing identical nervous tics and speech patterns but the school board dismisses her concerns as paranoia.
2. Two documentary filmmakers investigating an abandoned asylum in Pennsylvania discover recent belongings inside and realize someone has been living there and watching them through the security cameras.
3. A sheriff and three other people try to survive in their small Iowa town after a military biological weapon contaminates the water supply, causing residents to become violently insane and homicidal.
4. A grief counselor specializing in suicide survivors becomes obsessed with a client's dead husband and begins adopting his mannerisms while her own marriage disintegrates around her unnoticed.
5. Three estranged siblings return to their childhood home in rural Montana to care for their father but find he no longer recognizes them and insists strangers are living upstairs.
6. A night shift nurse at a psychiatric hospital in Vermont begins experiencing the same violent hallucinations as her patients and discovers her predecessor died under identical circumstances.
