1. A university ethics professor conducts unauthorized psychological experiments on her graduate students to complete her research manuscript but one participant records everything and plans to expose her during the dissertation defense.
2. A widow edits her late husband's unpublished memoir and realizes the manuscript describes murders he committed decades earlier when they first met as teenagers in their small coastal town.
3. A screenwriter discovers that every character death he writes appears as a real murder in his neighborhood and the detective investigating believes he committed them while sleepwalking through his creative process.
4. A man working on writing a horror screenplay experiences a psychological deterioration while spending an extended period alone inside his residence without contact with other people during the creative process.
5. A ghostwriter hired to complete a dead novelist's unfinished horror book experiences vivid hallucinations of the fictional monster and someone close to her vanishes after reading the new chapters aloud.
6. An elderly author revises his final novel about a serial killer but his caretaker notices the victims match missing persons from his past and begins investigating his connection to them.
