1. Someone moves into a basement apartment where the previous tenant vanished and strange grinding noises emanate from the walls at night as the landlord insists nothing unusual occurred in the building.
2. A hydraulic press operator at a metalworks factory witnesses a coworker's gruesome accident but management pressures employees to falsify statements and the victim's widow arrives seeking answers about what really happened.
3. A teenage girl develops an obsessive infatuation with her guidance counselor and begins isolating herself from friends while her grades deteriorate and her parents remain oblivious to her deteriorating mental state.
4. Two brothers inherit their father's salvage yard but discover he was crushing stolen vehicles for a criminal network and the operation's enforcers expect them to continue the arrangement or face consequences.
5. A man in a relationship meets another woman while house-sitting and begins a passionate affair with her, but he eventually discovers that she is dangerous.
6. A grieving widower attends a support group where he becomes fixated on another attendee's story of loss and begins mimicking her routines while his own suppressed memories of his wife's death resurface.
