1. A hospice nurse administers morphine to terminal patients and begins extending their doses while recording their final confessions in a leather journal she inherited from her mother.
2. Two brothers running a failing mortuary discover their newest corpse contains evidence of their father's involvement in a decades-old disappearance that destroyed their small town.
3. Thirteen days after a miscarriage, a woman living in rural Vermont begins hearing infant cries from the frozen lake behind her house and follows them each night.
4. A teenage boy babysitting his younger sister becomes attracted to a new neighbor and grows concerned about her foster father's behavior, leading him to investigate and discover disturbing revelations about the situation.
5. A man celebrates his thirteenth day of sobriety by attending his sponsor's funeral but finds himself alone in the funeral home when the doors lock from the outside.
6. An insomniac teenager marks the thirteenth consecutive sleepless night as hallucinations blur with reality and her parents insist nothing unusual is happening to their perfect daughter.
