2. A religious leader in a future society discovers that an organization's ability to bring dead people back to life may be connected to multiple killings that have occurred.
3. A neuroscientist uploads his deceased daughter's brain patterns into a synthetic body but the creation develops violent impulses he cannot explain or control as she matures rapidly.
4. An ex-convict returns to his hometown after twenty years and finds his former cellmate living under his stolen identity while his own family denies ever knowing him.
5. After a corporate merger dissolves her department, a middle-aged programmer reinvents herself as a consultant but her new employer harvests client data for blackmail operations she unknowingly facilitates.
6. Two astronauts awaken from cryosleep on a colony ship but the rest of the crew remains frozen and mission logs indicate they already completed this journey decades earlier.
